MEAL PROGRAM
Feeding the Future with Healthy School Lunches
Refine Therapeutic Learning Center is an active participant of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which provides all meals served at our school to our students throughout the regular school year. Through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas, Refine TLC is allowed to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications. Again, this remarkable program includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks! To further set the minds of our parents at ease, we are providing this meal program to ALL of our students at no charge!
We believe that healthy eating is essential in education, not only because of the benefits to a child’s health but also because of its many academic benefits. It has been proven that improved nutrition has a direct impact on academic performance, memory, and other positive learning behaviors. We also understand that children typically spend around 6 hours in school and/or primary care and get half their daily calories during that time. By providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily at our school, we are not only ensuring that our students get the proper nutrition they need, but we are also helping to curb the risks associated with childhood obesity.
